Leaving a gift in your Will to Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation creates a lasting legacy for future generations.
For over 95 years, the Foundation has had a long history of responding effectively to the changing needs of Melbourne’s community, made possible through the generosity of many people who have left a bequest.
The Foundation welcomes bequests and gifts in Wills – from new friends and old. You may also wish to consider leaving a bequest to your existing Charitable Fund Account. This will further ensure that causes you are passionate about, will continue to receive your support.
The Swanson Society honours valued donors who have included the Foundation in their bequest wishes.
The Society, which was launched in September 2015, provides opportunities to engage with the Foundation’s vision for positive social change and explores how leaving a legacy will support future generations.
The Society is named in honour of Melbourne's Lord Mayor Sir John Swanson who, in addition to being a successful businessman and philanthropist, was a visionary thinker who established the Lord Mayor's Fund for Metropolitan Hospitals and Charities in 1923 – our present-day Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation. Sir John, himself, left a bequest to the Foundation.
Simply by letting us know, confidentially, about your intentions to include the Foundation in your future arrangements, we can ensure that you become an honoured member of the Swanson Society.
We arrange a number of events each year for Swanson Society members to come together and learn more about the potential impact of their gifts.
It will be our way to thank you during your life for your future support.
