Giving circles bring people together to learn about philanthropy, pooling their donations and making collective recommendations about grants.

This is a growing form of engaged philanthropy and since 2014, Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation has provided governance and administrative support to two of Melbourne’s largest and well known giving circles: Melbourne Women’s Fund and Impact100 Melbourne.

These giving circles are sub-funds of the Foundation’s DGR Public Fund.

Melbourne Women’s Fund is a Giving Circle that brings together members’ financial, intellectual, professional and personal resources to support non-profit organisations in Melbourne that deal with issues undermining the quality of life and futures of women and their families.

Impact100 Melbourne

Impact100 Melbourne is part of the network of Impact100 giving circles across Australia, whose model is based on 100 donations of $1000 to make one large grant of $100,000 for maximum impact.
