As the community foundation for Greater Melbourne, Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation has been a special place for the community to gather together to fundraise and provide grants to charitable organisations for almost 100 years.

The Foundation’s General Manager Fund Development Rikki Andrews says that giving together leads to increased place-based positive impact or important support of a cause many donors are passionate about.

“It’s also an opportunity to connect socially with like-minded donors. Whether it’s one of our annual appeals, giving circles or a community and charitable fund account, the Foundation supports and enables giving where every gift - large and small - can have a positive impact.”

Giving circles are a popular form of collective giving with donors who would like to join a collective giving group as part of a wider network of like-minded donors.

"Our giving circles have an enormous positive impact on the causes they support, and we are proudly the host foundation to some of Melbourne's largest giving circles. Their contribution to community philanthropy in Melbourne is incredible and we are very grateful for the wonderful opportunities they provide our donors.”
