Why We Give

Over many decades Angela Wheelton OAM DSJ and Paul Wheelton AM KSJ have made their personal philanthropy an important and central part of their lives. They are well-known for their kind and generous philanthropic support of many not-for-profit organisations and charity events across Melbourne as well as a managing an education fund for children in Bali.  

Leading Melbourne architect, Rob McGauran, joined Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation Board in 2018 after seeing first-hand the Foundation’s commitment to preventing homelessness.

Indrani and Graeme established a Charitable Fund Account in memory of their daughter Dr. Tasha Port who died from depression in 2020. Tasha was a qualified doctor who was described as caring and compassionate and dedicated to her family and work.

Anthony, or Tony, as he’s affectionately known, started his career with a chemistry degree and “in a quandary as to how to maximise my educational achievements”.

Lower Plenty activist Lois Loftus-Hills was committed to supporting her local community. Through the Loftus-Hills Fund, her legacy continues to provide vital funding to the causes she was passionate about.

Patricia Farrant devoted her life to serving others as a humanitarian and social worker. She established her Charitable Fund Account, the Patricia Farrant Fund, with the intention of supporting her much loved charities for the long-term.
