Parents and friends concerned about drug use by young people living in regional areas now have a helpful online resource. Penington Institute’s new website called Understanding Ice provides practical information about the effects of ice, where to get help, and how to help a friend or family member who is using ice.
Penington Institute has reported that the new site has attracted more the 10,000 visitors since its launch earlier this year, a very successful outcome.
70 per cent of visitors to the website were aged between 18 and 34.
50 per cent of visitors indicated that they were there seeking information in relation to their own ice use.
30 per cent were family members seeking information related to ice use by someone in their family.
One in five indicating that they were there to seek information relating to their friend’s ice use.
