The Board and staff of Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation are deeply saddened by the passing of Judith Durham AO.
Ms Durham was a much loved and highly respected friend, supporter and special ambassador to Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation.
Along with the then Lord Mayor John So, the Foundation welcomed Ms Durham and The Seekers to the Melbourne Town Hall to receive the Key to the City in 2006. This was an important historic event for all Melburnians.

She was also a wonderful supporter of the Foundation’s Heart of Melbourne Appeal and generously gave of her time to help raise awareness about homelessness in Melbourne. On a number of occasions, she performed at the Foundation’s donor and charity partner events, including at the Foundation’s 85th-anniversary celebrations. She also recorded The Australian Cities Suite with Orchestra Victoria and donated the proceeds to the Foundation’s grantmaking program.

Ms Durham will be remembered by the Foundation’s Board and staff as an inspiring philanthropist who encouraged and promoted kindness and generosity to ‘...benefit people from all walks of life.’
The Foundation is eternally grateful for Ms Durham’s dedicated support to the wider Melbourne community. Vale Judith, “there will never be another you”.
