Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation was delighted to celebrate with Collier Charitable Fund their remarkable milestone of providing $102 million in grants to charities and not-for-profit organisations.
The Collier Charitable Fund was set up in 1954 under the Wills of Alice, Edith and Annette Collier and has become an integral part of Melbourne’s philanthropic history.
Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer Dr Catherine Brown said, “We are pleased to honour the Collier sisters Alice, Edith and Annette for their enormous and wonderful contribution to the wellbeing of Melbourne. They have inspired Australian philanthropy, especially in Melbourne for many decades.
“We are privileged to be a beneficiary of the Collier bequest. Together we share 65 years of supporting the people of Melbourne especially in health, education and community development.”
Guest speaker Samantha Mostyn inspired guests sharing her insights on the important contribution women have made to Australian philanthropy and the need for more data on the specific needs of women.
