As the community foundation for Greater Melbourne, Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation welcomes donations, both large and small.All gifts have impact and enable the Foundation to address Melbourne’s most concerning social and environmental issues at the local community level.
The Foundation’s General Manager Fund Development, Rikki Andrews, says, “as Melbourne’s local community foundation, we are well-placed to provide advice and expertise on giving to assist you to support your favourite causes. We conduct research into the social issues affecting Melbourne and work to address these issues through our grantmaking program. We can advise you on how to best optimise your donations to make a positive difference.
“A donation to our Public Ancillary Fund, Lord Mayor’s Charitable Fund, may be a tax-deductible gift that you may claim in the year of payment. You may wish to spread the deduction across up to five income years. This is general information so please be sure to check the ATO website and your tax advisor for more information.”
Tax-deductible donations to Lord Mayor’s Charitable Fund are added to the pool of funds for the many grants we distribute each year to support the health and wellbeing of communities across greater Melbourne.
Over $12 million was granted in the 2020/2021 financial year to address COVID-19 response and recovery as well as vital Impact Areas: Education & Employment; Environment & Sustainability; Healthy & Resilient Communities; and Homelessness & Affordable Housing.
