Building our knowledge through research

The Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation's past, present and future work is informed by our research. The Foundation is committed to researching community need, the role of philanthropy and measuring the impact of our work.

In 2014, Melbourne was the first Australian capital city to participate in the international Vital Signs project; a comprehensive community report on key indicators assessing the quality of life, health and wellbeing of the city. The report, commissioned by the Foundation, identifies current and emerging issues in seven key areas that concern the community; homelessness, ageing, youth, food security, environment, arts and health.
