About

Green Collect is a Work Integrated Social Enterprise that specialises in finding the best environmental outcome for a wide variety of hard-to-recycle items from the office and home.

The enterprise is poised to undergo a second phase of growth as it moves into a bigger warehouse and increases its capacity to process more material. This capacity building project will ensure that staff are well positioned to manage this scaling, focusing on both building new capacity within the enterprise and forming new relationships with partners.

It will increase and enhance outcomes for Green Collect’s priority cohorts (at risk youth and people from homelessness and refugee backgrounds). This work will include:

  • Increasing the capacity of enterprise support staff to develop and deliver training in new areas related to resource recovery practices, circular economy and sustainable supply chain (including training via external partners and inhouse delivery).

  • Providing skills development for support staff in delivery of mentoring and coaching programs, assessment, and outcomes measurement.

  • Enhancing the depth and delivery of Green Collect's job readiness skills training, becoming a Learn Local provider.

This project will also focus on building partnerships with local businesses in Melbourne’s West to provide pathways and post-placement support into open employment (in sectors such as logistics, warehousing, supply chain operations) and partnering with local TAFEs to deliver Cert II & III in Warehouse/Supply Chain Operations, including co-designing curricula to build skills in circular economy practices.

'Realising The Potential Of People And Resources Through Circular Economy' aligns with these United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals:
