Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation is delighted to launch our new strategy that will guide and inform our direction over the next five years.
Strategy 2030 represents a bold and forward-looking vision and is designed to amplify our impact, foster collaboration and ensure we are working to address societal inequality now and in the future.
The Foundation’s new strategic direction introduces key initiatives focussed on addressing the persistent causes of inequality, whilst also enhancing our philanthropic services and engagement with stakeholders for effective philanthropy.
By placing social justice at the heart of everything we do, we will strive for a just and equitable Greater Melbourne where communities thrive.
Our approach to philanthropy
To drive meaningful change, we will focus on key strategic priorities Impact, Engagement and Operations.
- Impact
- Support communities to shape and lead local initiatives that reflect their unique strengths, needs, and aspirations.
- Foster collaboration to drive long term change by tackling structural barriers and intersecting conditions that perpetuate inequity.
- Engagement
- Strengthen and expand our approach to more effective philanthropy for social justice and equity.
- Develop a thriving donor community that grows funding and is deeply engaged with the purpose of the organisation.
- Operations
- Integrate the For Purpose Impact Accelerator Hub as a centre for collaboration for justice and equity in Greater Melbourne.
- Enable our people to support our purpose and create a contemporary and sustainable operating model.
Effective philanthropy
Strategy 2030 introduces key initiatives focused on:
- addressing the persistent causes of inequality
- enhancing our first-rate philanthropic fund management services
- engaging with stakeholders for effective philanthropy
- working towards positive community impact.
We’ll be working at the intersection of our three impact areas Climate Justice, Economic Justice and Housing Justice to:
- align our skills, resources and relationships to support communities in shaping and leading local initiatives
- build meaningful relationships with community partners to address structural barriers that create inequity.
Working together for a just and equitable society
We look forward to transitioning to Strategy 2030 and new ways of working. This means working together with community partners to address their needs and remove barriers to creating a more just and equitable society for communities to thrive.
