Winter Days of Giving

May 24, 2010

Most charities could always do with extra funding during the winter months when demand for help is higher than usual.

Here’s your chance to help out. You can make a difference by nominating your favourite charity to receive a grant of $5,000.

The Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation is giving all Melburnians an opportunity to nominate their favourite charity to receive one of 22 $5,000 grants.

3AW and the Neil Mitchell program are supporting this very special campaign.

To nominate your favourite charity to receive a $5,000 grant, fill out the nomination form and in 50 words or less explain why it should be considered to receive a $5,000 grant.

The nominated charity must have a Deductible Gift Recipient status (DGR) from the Australian Taxation Office.  All nominations will be received and managed by the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation.

Nominations are now open and close Wednesday 28 July.

Successful grant recipients will be announced daily on 3AW's Neil Mitchell program from Thursday 1 July and listed on the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation website weekly.
