General Grants Now Open
The Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation today reminded all charitable organisations that applications are being received for general grants until the end of March.
There are five categories in which charities are able to apply for funding; these are family, health, lifecare, environment and arts, education and sport.
The Foundation’s CEO Mr Andrew Chappell said, “We are increasing our funding to charities each year and we would like to reach as many charitable organisations as we can. This year 450 charities shared in funding worth $8.9 million.
“We are particularly keen to receive applications from smaller charities in the health and welfare sector that dependent on philanthropic funding for their very existence.
“These charities are financially vulnerable and we want to make sure that they can continue their work in caring for and supporting people who are disadvantaged in our community,” added Mr Chappell.
