Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation CEO Andrew Chappell said, "Thank you Gorgi for your support of this year's appeal."
Heart of Melbourne Appeal for Melbourne's Homeless Launched
Lord Mayor John So, as president of the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation and Melbourne celebrity, Gorgi Quill officially launched the Heart of Melbourne Appeal.
This year's appeal highlights the serious issue of homelessness affecting women and children.
14,000 people are homeless every night in Melbourne, the Heart of Melbourne Appeal raises money specifically for not-for-profit organisations supporting Melbourne's most vulnerable residents by providing food, clothing and accommodation. Often those who are homeless include women and children.
With the assistance of Gorgi Quill, this year's appeal aims to raise awareness about this often unseen face of homelessness - mothers and their children. Gorgi has lent her support to the appeal by appearing in the new television commercial.
The Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation would also like to acknowledge the support of the Ritchies Supermarkets, Marcus Tarrant, Alan Jane, Herald Sun and Nine Network in sponsoring the Heart of Melbourne Appeal.
Remember a loved one and give to your community forever.
