General grants up for grabs

The Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation is reminding all charitable organisations that the Foundation is accepting applications for the General Grants program until the end of March 2011.
The Foundation’s Director of Grants and Philanthropy Mr Leigh Wallace OAM, said charities were invited to apply for a General Grant up to $40,000.
“Applications for General Grants will be accepted until Thursday 31 March and all charities with a Deductible Gift Recipient (Item 1) status from the Australian Taxation Office are invited to submit an application.”
In 2010 almost $3.2 million was distributed to 250 charities in five categories including Health, Life Care, Family, Environment and Arts, Sport and Education.
