Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation appoints Robert Masters as new chairman

The Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation, one of Australia’s leading philanthropic organisations, has announced the appointment of Mr Robert Masters as Chairman to the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation Board of Management.
Mr Masters first joined the Foundation’s Board of Management in 2006 and was appointed Deputy Chairman in 2009. He also chairs the Foundation’s fundraising and marketing committee and has been instrumental in directing the Foundation’s recent marketing, fundraising and social investment strategies.
The director of Robert Masters and Associates, one of Australia’s leading and award-winning strategic public relations agencies, Mr Masters was a senior political journalist for 11 years before entering public relations. His media and communications experience spans the corporate and government sectors, industrial and consumer markets, issues and crisis management, employee relations and investor relations. He is a Fellow and a past national President of the Public Relations Institute of Australia and reviews Deakin University’s public relations courses.
The Foundation’s outgoing Chairman Mr Tony Connon said that the contribution made by Mr Masters to the growth and success of the Foundation in recent years has been outstanding.
“On behalf of the Board of Management I am pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Masters as Chairman of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation. Robert brings a wealth of business experience both in the private and public sectors.”
Mr Connon will continue to serve as a member of the Board of Management and Chair the Foundation’s Investment Committee.
On accepting his new position Mr Masters said, “I am delighted to be given this opportunity to work for the community with a dynamic Board of Management and a committed and enthusiastic staff during this exciting period of growth for the Foundation.
“I’d like to thank Mr Connon for his exemplary service to the Board, staff and donors during his time as Chairman over the last three years.”
